This year Laurel Hill Coláiste entered into the All-Ireland traditional Irish Music competition run by Gael Linn, Siansa. Taisce was formed back in September and was made up of students in our school from Bliain a 2 go Bliain a 6. They composed, arranged, practiced and persisted for months to finally progress to the Regional Finals of the competition. Their set consisted of a composition written by our very own, Aoife Ní Chonghaile, which blew the moltóirí away! They also included an t-amhrán, A Chomaraigh Aoibhinn Ó, Muireann's Jig, Time Flew (a recent composition by Anthony Quigney) and Castle Kelly's Reel!
We are so bródúil as na cailíní as an obair den scoth a chur siad isteach mí i ndiaidh míosa! A special word of thanks to first year student, Lia Ní Shiúrtáin, who stood in as an ionadaí when we needed her most!
Míle buíochas d'Iníon Ní Bhroin agus Ms Galligan as an tacaíocht uile.
