The choir of Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ is comprised of students from 1st to 6th year. Almost a third of the school are involved in the choir. Having had a brief hiatus from singing during the pandemic the choir have come back strong. They are regular concert performers who enjoy singing a wide variety of music. The choir have been guest perfomers with The University of Limerick Orchestra, Limerick Choral Union and Corpus Christi National School Choir. The choir also compete on a regular basis and were winners of the Cork Choral Festival 2023. They won first prize in the Equal Voice Post-Primary School Choirs. They also won the John Cunningham Trophy- an award given to the choir with the highest overall mark in the Competition, and a special award called The Irish Federation of Musicians and Associated Professions Trophy for the best performance of a choral piece in Irish. In the 2024 competition, Ms. Ní Bhroin was awarded the Sing Ireland prize for conductors. Even though the choir is a very large one, every voice is cherished, no matter how small.
Tá cór Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ déanta de dhaltaí ón 1ú go dtí an 6ú bliain. Tá beagnach aon trian den scoil páirteach sa chór. Tar éis sos gairid a fháil ón amhránaíocht le linn na paindéime, tá an cór tagtha ar ais go láidir. Bíonn siad ag canadh go rialta ag ceolchoirmeacha agus baintear taitneamh as raon leathan ceoil a chanadh. Bhí an cór mar aoi leis an gCeolfhoireann Ollscoil Luimnigh, Aontas Córúil Luimnigh agus Cór Scoil Náisiúnta Corpus Christi. Bíonn an cór san iomaíocht i gcomórtais ar bhonn rialta freisin agus bhí siad ina mbuaiteoirí ag Féile Chórúil Chorcaí 2023. Bhuaigh siad an chéad duais i gCóir Iar-bhunscoile "Equal Voice". Bhuaigh siad freisin Trófaí John Cunningham – duais a bronnadh ar an gcór leis an marc iomlán is airde sa chomórtas, agus duais speisialta dar teideal "The Irish Federation of Musicians and Associated Professions Trophy" as an léiriú is fearr de phíosa córúil i nGaeilge. Sa chomórtas 2024, bronnadh duais "Sing Ireland" do stiúrthóirí ar Ms Ní Bhroin. Cé gur cór an-mhór é an cór seo, tá meas ar gach guth, is cuma cé chomh beag is atá sé.
