Some say that Bridge is by far the one of the greatest card games of all time, and while is provides an immense challenge, it also provides immense enjoyment and is a skill which can benefit you for the rest of your life. Bridge is recognised as a mind sport, and is partnership trick-taking card game of skill.
A very successful Student Bridge Club is organized in the school and coaching takes one evening a week after school. Transition year students have a bridge module as part of their curriculum. Students compete in all the major national competitions and local inter-schools tournaments are also organised.
Chomórtas Scoileanna de chuid Chomhdháil Bhliaintiúil an Bheiriste 2017
Comhghairdeas ó chroí le Monica Ní Thoráin agus Lily Ní Mhathúna a thóg an chéad áit leo sa Chomórtas Scoileanna de chuid Chomhdháil Bhliaintiúil an Bheiriste anseo i Luimneach an deireadh seachtaine seo caite. There was a wonderful turnout of LH girls on the night and much credit goes to Ms. Jill Ashworth (pictured below) for passing on both her skill and passion for the game of bridge to our students. Míle buíochas too to Ms. Sweeney and the fifth year coiste who helped enormously with the running of the Bridge Club here in school in the run-up to the competition. And finally, a very sincere “Thank you” to Diarmuid Reddan, who generously sponsored the School Bridge Tournament, but was camera-shy on the night. Is mór linn é!
