Réamhrá ón gComhordaitheoir
Tá an t-ádh linn an chlár seo a chur ar fáil dár ndaltaí sa scoil seo. Chuireamar tús leis an gclár sa bhliain 2013 i Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ, agus ó shin i leith tá sé ag dul ó neart go neart. Gach bliain, cuirimid clár bríomhar agus nuálach le chéile agus feicimid an difríocht a dhéanann sé i bhforbairt na scoláirí. Ár bport nó mantra ná "an méid a chuireann tú isteach a fhaigheann tú amach" agus is fíor é. Bíonn deis ag na cailíní triail a bhaint as ábhair difriúla agus páirt a ghlacadh i gceardlanna cosúil le Sign Language, Story Exchange, Íoga, Staidéar Cultúrtha, srl. Cuireann an clár seo deiseanna agus dúshlán luachmhar os a gcomhair agus tugann sé deis dóibh aibíocht a fhorbairt roimh na hArdteistméireacht & níos déanaí sa saol oibre. Leis an bhfás agus leis an bhforbairt atá tagtha ar an gcúrsa le roinnt blianta anuas, níl aon amhras faoi ach go mbíonn bliain speisialta i gceist, atá an-luachmhar dos na cailíní, a bhaineann taitneamh agus táirbhe as an gclár seo.
We are very lucky to be able to offer this course to our students. We first established this course in our school in 2013 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Every year, we put together a lively and innovative program and we see the difference it makes in the students' development. Our motto or mantra is "you get out what you put in" and it's true. The girls have the opportunity to try out different subjects and participate in workshops such as Sign Language, Story Exchange, Yoga, Cultural Studies, etc. This programme presents them with valuable opportunities and challenges and gives them the opportunity to develop maturity before the Leaving Certificate & later in the working world. With the growth and development of the course over the last few years, there is no doubt that it will be a special year, which is very valuable for the girls, who enjoy and benefit from this programme.

Ráiteas Misin na hIdirbhliana
“Forbairt phearsanta, shóisialta, ghairme agus oideachasúil na scoláirí a chur chun cinn agus iad a ullmhú dá ról mar bhaill neamhspleácha, rannpháirteacha sa tsochaí”(An Roinn Oideachas, Treoirlínte don Idirbhliain 1994/1995 )
“To promote the personal, social, educational and vocational development of pupils and to prepare them for their role as autonomous, participative, and responsible members of society”. (Dept. of Education, TY Guidelines 1994/1995)
Roinnt tagairtí faoin Idirbhliain
"TY students are more likely to be educationally adventurous. They are more likely to retain subjects at higher level, to move from Ordinary to Higher Level and from Foundation to Ordinary Level. They are more likely to take up subjects which they had not taken up before."
(NCCA Final Report 1999)
"There is growing anecdotal evidence that students who have taken the TY programme are more self -reliant learners when they enter thirdlevel education than their peers"
